Welche Kultserie? – die, in der die Ewings im Mittelpunkt standen – DALLAS. 1995, vier Jahre nach Ende der Serie, besuchte ich Dallas. Beim Umherstreifen in der Stadt wunderte ich mich, warum so wenig Menschen auf der Straße und kaum Geschäfte zu sehen sind, aber oft Treppen, die irgendwohin nach unten führten. Des Rätsels Lösung – Underground Walkways – und da unten waren auch die Geschäfte. Diese Walkways bilden heute noch das Dallas Pedestrian Network und verbinden 36 Blocks in Downtown Dallas unterirdisch miteinander. Aber um die Stadt zu sehen, muss man sich oberirdisch bewegen. Also kommt mit auf einen Streifzug durch die „Stadt der Ewings“.

Which cult series? – The one that centered on the Ewings – DALLAS. In 1995, four years after the series ended, I visited Dallas. Wandering around town, I wondered why there were so few people on the streets and hardly any stores, but often stairs leading somewhere down. The puzzle’s solution – Underground Walkways – and that’s where the stores were. These walkways still make up the Dallas Pedestrian Network today, connecting 36 blocks in Downtown Dallas underground. But to see the city, you have to go above ground. So come along for a foray through the „City of Ewings.“
